Glastonbury Chiropractor | Dr. Gregg McKinney

I knew at an early age I wanted to be a chiropractor.

My grandmother suffered greatly for years with her back before seeing a Hartford chiropractor in 1953. Medical doctors told her to have an operation to cut nerves that they thought were causing her muscles to wither away. Instead she saw chiropractor, Dr Lloyd Herlth, who restored her muscle tone naturally. My parents also needed a chiropractor. Dad was 6 foot 5 and threw his back out periodically. Mom was a nurse and lifting patients took it’s toll. Both had great results which influenced me to start my journey to becoming a chiropractor.

Dr. Gregg McKinney began his pre-chiropractic education at Springfield College as a Biology major. He studied basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology along with advanced physiology and anatomy courses. After completing his study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During his four years at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, multiple chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care at the Palmer College Public Clinic. After graduating magna cum laude in 1979, Dr. McKinney returned to Connecticut.

We love skeptics, smiles Dr. McKinney. I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that.
